Fumbling Words

At the most prestigious times of your life, you end up forgetting that one word which just ruins your whole presentation,

Or you just forgot that one sentence,

Or you are just unable to remember that “one word” and then you replace it with some thing else, realizing you just messed it whole up, with a “fumblish tone”!

Totally Messed Up!

The feeling of anxiety is what we all suffer from the most. And some of us get so entangled in this course of anxiety, that we end up in an extreme situations of fumbling or jumbling up with our words, with the worse of becoming totally forgetful or tong-tied!

It is important that we relax before such situations, rehearse what you have to say, take deep breaths, have a sip of water, calm your jaw and shoulder muscles and most of all relax your hands.

All of this can be a sign of some what  social anxiety, nervousness or stress. Simultaneously low-esteem, negative self-thoughts and also self-depreciating thoughts can lead to such anxieties.

However, one of my friends she shared a brilliant way of getting to relax your nerves. She taught me a Dua, which spiritually helps in trying to ease hardships and bringing the best out of you! You can recite it if  before speeches, interviews, meetings, social phobia, anxiety, shyness and any situation which requires the best of your speech!

The Prayer of Prophet Musa (Quran 20:25-28; Surat Taha)

Oh my Lord! Open my chest [i.e. remove fear from it, or fill it with Your Light]. And ease my task for me. Remove the impediment from my speech so that they may understand what I say.

May Allah Help Us, In All Good And Bad Situations Of Life!

Dua’s When Calamity, disaster, problem Strikes

A calamity could be anything from a death of a dear one or a natural disaster coming our way. Anything that could bring some kind of terrible loss, a severe affliction, tragedy, a long lasting disaster or some kind of distress. Hurricanes, floods, strong winds, tornadoes, deaths, heart broken, sickness, divorce.. are just a part of a calamity.

“War.  Famine.  Suffering.  Not a day goes by that the evening news does not report horrific stories of humanity in despair, and of worldwide misery.  On a more personal level, many of us have been stricken with grief and depression in our day to day lives.  A loved one passes away.  A financial downturn.  A cheating spouse. ” – http://www.islamreligion.com/articles/1803/viewall/

So what should we do when a calamity hits us ?

Our Prophet Muhammed (Allah have mercy on him) said:

“The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah, than the weak believer and there is goodness in both.”

Hence, we should try to strive for that which will benefit you, seek help from Allah and do not despair. And if in this a mishap should befall on you then we shouldn’t despair, or curse our faith and think to ourselves  “If only I had acted…such and such would have happened.”

Rather, we should say:

“Allah has decreed and what He wills, He does.”

…for verily (the word) ‘IF’ lets in the work of the devil.

Dua when struck with a calamity or when unable to do something
قَدَّرَ اللهُ وَمَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ
qaddar-allaahu wa maa shaa’a fa‛al
“Allah has decreed and what He wills, He does.”
innaa lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji‛oon, allaahumma ajurnee fee muṣeebatee, wakhluf lee khayran minhaa
“To Allah we belong and unto Him is our return. O Allah, recompense me for my affliction and replace it for me with something better.”
*Whoever says this supplication Allah will replace it for him with something better (as mentioned by the messenger of Allah)
